Role in the band?

I’m one of the lead singers.

When and how did you form the band?

I only just officially joined the band around the beginning of the year, but I’ve been singing with Studio 188 since I was 9 starting at the World Expo in Shanghai. I watched them play as I grew up and always aspired to become a member of a band like that.

Favorite song to perform ever?

My favorite song to play with Studio 188 is probably Treasure by Bruno Mars. I started singing this song with my old band, From Somewhere Else, and I loved it. But with Studio 188, we bring it to a whole other level. This song is so much fun to sing, and it gets everyone dancing.

What do you like the most about Studio 188?

The energy. When you're on stage with these great people you feel the energy bouncing off of them and you feed off their energy. I also love that we're like a family, we all care for each other. I’m the youngest member of the band but I get treated as an equal. I love my band family ❤️

Do you get nervous before a performance?

I get very nervous before every performance, I always get butterflies in my stomach and I make up the worst scenarios that can happen, “what If I trip and fall off the stage?”,  or “I’m gonna forget the words!” Nothing like that ever happens!

What are three things you look for when you see an artist play live?

When I watch an artist play live I’m always looking for their energy, it’s the key factor when performing live. They have to get the crowd into the show, the artist is the one leading the show, they do the show almost everyday (insane!) of course they will be tired but they need to be on high energy for the whole show. The second thing that I look for is their engagement with the audience, the crowd is there for the artist, mostly because they love the music and the artist. The last thing I notice is obviously the artist's live voice.

Artist you feel most inspired by?

There are so many artist that inspire me, it’s hard to name all of them let alone one. So just to name a few, Bruno Mars, Queen, Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, The Police, and so so many more.
